– The MOTHERS conquered the public of the Courtyard of Honor in Avignon who celebrated with a standing ovation lasting a quarter of an hour. The piece at the crossroads of antiquity and a history in progress which, two hours from Paris, threatens Europe.

MOTHERS in Avignon:
– Marta Górnicka’s anger makes the Court of Honor tremble. Its more than a show, MOTHERS is an act, a strong act, a great gesture that ends in a total communion where love is a feeling that remains legitimate. What we see is a choir, wonderfully directed into the hearts of the audience by Marta Górnicka. They glue us to the seat and force us to listen to them and say sorry. It would be inadequate to confine them to ancient kouroi. They are from today and now, in t-shirts, jeans, shorts, leggings. Marta Górnicka is the fourth director to enter the Court and the second this year.

“MOTHER’S A SONG FOR WARTIME”, orchestrated by director Marta Górnicka, goes beyond the experience of a performance, it is a ceremony uniting the audience in community with suffering Ukraine. (…) A powerful moment in the courtyard of honor of the Palace of the Popes.
